Taught by Trust personnel, this course is designed to provide the necessary information for maintenance and facilities personnel to remain safe while doing their jobs.  Our members face a variety of challenges and exposures for maintaining a safe work environment for both employees and individuals and the general public.   Some exposures are unique to an organization while others share common hazards and OSHA regulations.  This class is designed to assist with the identification of safety hazards and controls which can be implemented to reduce injuries as well as a general discussion of OSHA regulations applicable to many organizations.

Overview and discussion of the following OSHA Standards:

  •      Electrical and Lock Out Tag Out requirements
  •      Ladder Safety
  •      Slip Trip Fall Prevention
  •      Hand and Power Tool Safety
  •      Exposures and controls associated with landscaping tasks
  •      Manual Material Handling/Safe Lifting

An overview of Personal Protective Equipment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Confined Space and Hazard Communication.

Learning Outcomes

  •        Identifying, understanding and reducing workplace hazards which can lead to injuries
  •        Understanding how to complete a hazard awareness overview of the facility and methods to reduce exposures
  •        Gain a better understanding of OSHA requirements
