Title: Utilization Review Clinical Coordinator

Open Positions: 1 full time position – 40 hours
Under the general direction of the Return to Work Specialist, provides utilization review to ensure medical services for injured workers will optimize recovery and early return to work.
The UR clinical coordinator must independently evaluate, review and approve or disapprove of medical/clinical treatment requested by providers for injured workers, in strict compliance with appropriate medical protocols and standards. Compliance with established deadlines, appropriate responses and consistent work flow are essential to this position.
In addition, the UR clinical coordinator may be asked to provide case management services on select cases. Case management services provide for the coordination of all medical and social care needed to remove any barriers to successful return to work or case conclusion.
The successful candidate must have a degree in nursing (BSN preferred) and strong communication skills both verbal and written. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, ability to research and evaluate the subject matter, high level critical thinking skills, are all necessary for this position. Past clinical experience in the area of orthopedics, neurology or neurosurgery is preferred.
