Taught by Trust staff, this UPDATED program will provide an overview of OSHA’s Emergency Action Plan, standard 1910.38, and Fire Protection, 1910 Subpart L.  This program will provide attendees with the information to organize and facilitate employee actions during workplace emergencies, and to have a solid understanding of the Fire Protection requirements to keep your staff, clients and visitors safe.  We will also include information on the CMS requirements for “All Hazards Planning”.

  • Understanding the requirements of OSHA’s Emergency Action Plan standard 1910.38
  • Understanding the various components of developing an Emergency Action Plan
  • Identifying the training resources available to assist with training staff
  • Understanding the requirements for “All Hazards Planning”

  • Practical application of the material through participation in a group exercise

Carlos Rivera joined the Trust as a Senior Loss Control Consultant in early 2007.  Carlos has over 25 years of experience as a Safety and Health Professional, in the manufacturing industry. Carlos’s specialties are in the areas of OSHA compliance, safety program evaluation, indoor air quality, radiation and ergonomics. He is a certified trainer for the National Safety Council Defensive Driving 4-Hour Course, and is authorized to teach the OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour general industry safety and health courses, and a Certified Food Safety Manager.  Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety from the University of New Haven.

Senior Loss Control Consultant, Workers’ Compensation Trust
Kathy brings over twenty-five years of loss control experience in the insurance industry.  Her vast experience includes all lines of coverage with emphasis on healthcare, training, and Workers’ Compensation.  Kathy is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a certified trainer for the National Safety Council Defensive Driving 4-Hour Course, a certified Food Safety Manager, and is authorized to teach the OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour general industry safety and health courses.  Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
