Accident Investigation
Accident investigation is an important management tool for the supervisor. It is an opportunity to learn more about your work area. Investigation is basic and problem solving.
The techniques can be used in day to day supervision of the workplace environment:
- Find out what the problem is
- Get all the information about the problem
- Decide what is really causing the problem
- Make corrections or recommendations
- Follow up to make sure the corrections work and they do not have undesired side effects
The objectives of this training program are:
- To develop your skills as a supervisor
- To make you aware of practical techniques for accident investigation
- To teach you how to interview people and to examine an accident scene
- To enable you to identify the basic causes of accidents
- To help you develop corrective actions that will control accidental losses
- To enable you to write a brief, complete report of your findings and actions
